My style of therapy is based on a systemic approach. Through this model, individuals are viewed as part of a complex web of systems that interact with each other (family, friends, job, community, social etc.) and influence their thoughts, behaviours, and feelings.
I place collaboration at the heart of my practice. We will work together to identify your goals and the most suitable approach to meet them. The process will be adaptive, flexing over time to meet your progress and needs.
The relationship between a therapist and their clients is key. I’m an empathetic person, who’s easy to talk to and genuinely cares about each and every one of my clients. My sessions are safe, judgement-free spaces in which feelings and feelings can be expressed freely.
Born and raised in Portugal, I am a clinical psychologist with a masters in clinical psychology from the University of Lisbon, and a member of the Portuguese Order of Psychologists (nº27545). I strongly believe that a wide breadth of knowledge is beneficial to the practice of psychology, and have built up experience in a number of different fields. In addition to offering therapy, I've spent the past few years working in the social sector, and have taken a post-graduate course in political science and international relations.
A committed humanitarian, with a particular interest in working to support refugees and asylum seekers, I'm co-founder of HuBB-Humans Before Borders, a platform for action against the inhumane and illegal treatment of migrants and refugees.
I am currently working with the LGBTQIA+ association ILGAILGA, and as part of the team of Luana Cunha Ferreira, offering individual and couples therapy.
I offer a free, 15 minute initial consultation for new clients. My normal sessions are 60 minutes long, and cost €50. I conduct them online, between 9am and 8pm (GMT +1), Monday to a Friday.
